His business empire spanned frontiers, reaching out to Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Ghana, Benin, Guinea, Liberia, Tanzania, UK, USA, Spain, Azerbaijan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, Oman, Qatar & Bahrain. Such was his great entrepreneurial spirit that the Govt. Of Sierra Leone appointed him as the Hon. Consul General of Sierra Leone in India.

Seth Thakurdasji Choithram Pagarani saw to it that his vision and work find their way towards the future, for which he established 3 trusts in India and 1 in Sierra Leone (West Africa).

Choithram Fountain Of Humanitarian Services Charitable Trust

It was established in 1990. This trust is a rural trust, catering to the needs of the rural public, such as school education programs, free eye treatment under the Ayushmann scheme, and many free cataract surgeries being operated in mega camps every year at Choithram Netralaya.

On October 24th, 1993, it was shifted from the old building to the new building for the purpose of providing vast areas of facilities to patients and with well-equipped infrastructure in the same campus, and it was dedicated to the nation on June 27th, 2008, by the Honourable President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil.

Every month, Choithram Netralaya performs approximately 1500 to 2000 surgeries. Since its inception, Choithram Netralaya has performed more than 1,14,950 camp surgeries.

He is the managing trustee of this hospital and is a long term visionary. His futuristic plan is to develop Netralaya into a state of the art eye care development and research institute with national and international collaborations and is striving day in and out for the same.
